65 players enjoyed golf today in lovely spring weather and on a golf course in great condition. Congratulations to our winners on returning such excellent scores. The Prize-giving will take place on Saturday 27th April.

The new golfing season is officially up and running. Today was the first qualifying competition of 2013 as there was no placing. Well done Kevin, Davey & the green-keeping team, the course was in lovely condition with firm fairways and very fast greens. No surprise to see JH at the top of the podium as he started with an eagle! Well done all who braved the icy easterly breeze and here’s to a warm, dry and enjoyable golfing season.

It was very cold out on the course on Sunday with quite a gale blowing. Well done to everyone who took part and finished their round today. Well done Janet and Eileen with 31 points.

06/04/13 Singles Sweep

It was a lovely Spring day in St. Helen’s Bay on Saturday with lovely sunshine and calm conditions. Well done to Susan Evans who continues to play well and who shot a fabulous score of 39 pts. Congrats to Janet as well with a very respectable score of 33 pts for second place.

 

St. Marys Camogie Club

The junior team travelled to Ferns last Sunday (7th Apr) to play their first league game of the season. After a very good team performance the final scoreline was Ferns 5-2 to Rosslare 3-5. Scores for the seasiders were Aine O’Connell 1-3, Danielle Finney 1-1, Tracey Rea 1-0 & Sinead Walsh 0-1. The next game against St Annes will be played next Tuesday (16th Apr) in Tagoat at 7pm. The U-10 team took part in a blitz on Saturday 6th Apr in Tagoat where teams from Kilmore, St. Annes & Faythe Harriers attended. Our home team played brilliantly in all 3 games & look forward to their next outing which will take place in Kilmore. Well done to the U-14 girls (amalgamated team) Kilmore-Rosslare who had a great win over Bannow/Ballymitty on Tuesday (9th Apr).

 

St. Paul’s AC

Well done to everyone who competed in the club competition on Wednesday. Results to follow shortly. Looking forward to seeing our athletes gain more experience over the summer.Good luck to St. Paul’s athletes who are competing at the national intervarsity championships in Cork this weekend.

The Kilrane/Rosslare Harbour Active Retirement Group

New members always welcome Membership is open to all who are retired and active and it provides great opportunities to meet new people, join in the various activities and outings provided and to become more involved in our local community. The bus will leave the Railway Social Club at 9.30 am, with pick up in Kilrane and Tagoat, (if requested). ICA News

Kilrane/Rosslare Harbour ICA held its meeting in Community Centre on Wednesday 3rd April. President Betty Halligan presided. The outing to Newbridge was discussed and also the visit to Wells House, tour and Afternoon Tea on Wedn 5th June. The Guild discussed the forthcoming visit of W.I Fishguard on 13th June for The Gathering. Preparations for Special Occasions are also taking place, to be held in Adamstown. Carmel Lonergan won the Poem Competition. The AGM was also held – all of last years Committee are staying on.

 

First Holy Communion
